Ask anyone who has ever been in a band, and they’ll tell you. Being in a band is hard. Making it work for 20 years? That is really, really hard.
This has certainly been the case for Louisville, KY-based metal band FLAW. The band has seen multiple line-up changes over the years, however the core of Chris Volz (vocals) and Jason Daunt (guitar) remain as the creative driving force of poised to re-emerge on the strength of their finest set of recordings to date. The band has signed a deal with Pavement Entertainment, and is set to release Divided We Fall on August 19, 2016.
FLAW’s story began with the independent release of home-grown albums American Arrogance (1996), Flaw (1998) and Drama (2000). It was the songs on these recordings that garnered the attention of Universal Republic Records, who signed the band and released the break-through Through The Eyes in 2001. The offering topped the Billboard "Heatseekers" chart, largely fueled by the singles "Payback" and "Whole." The band then followed-up with an album entitled Endangered Species via Republic in 2004, but soon thereafter the band went through personnel changes and ended their relationship with the label. Volz stayed creative, releasing a critically acclaimed solo record, and also touring aggressively with the band Five.Bolt.Main. The band’s tumultuous relationship with themselves, and their label, were reflected in their songs. It was the life and energy captured in these songs that propelled the band forward. It was always FLAW fans’ connection to their songs that carried the band on. “We would not be where we are today without our hardcore fans,” says Volz. “The Flaw Family is the backbone of everything we do, and we cannot wait to get out and tour in support of this new record”.
FLAW a band that is re-emerging on the strength of renewed focus and energy, and that energy is captured on the lead single from “Divided We Fall”, a song called “Live and Breathe” that is a vessel of raw human experience and emotion. The band has waited 12 years to release a proper album, to rally and come together. They trust that together, FLAW can accomplish great things, and their fans are poised and ready to answer the call.
Whitney Peyton
If artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Eminem, and Missy Elliott miraculously had a pale love child that somewhat resembled Hayley Williams of Paramore, she would be just like Whitney Peyton. W.P. is a unique emcee, with a firecracker personality, hailing from the outskirts of Philadelphia, PA. Beginning close to home she became, and generally still holds the #1 spot on The Hip Hop Charts on Reverbnation.com in Philadelphia. Her continuous drive has also gained her several nominations (and wins) at the Lehigh Valley Music Awards (PA) for categories including "Best New Artist", "Best Lyricist", "Best Live Performer", "Best Female Solo Artist" and "Best Hip Hop Performer" from 2010 through 2014. Whitney was nominated in the 2014 Tri-State Indie Music Awards (PA, NY, NJ, DE, MD) for "Emerging Hip-Hop Artist of the Year" and won.

Equipped with catchy hooks and relatable rap verses, she is the top voted unsigned artist in her home state on MTV2's "On The Rise" contest and has been interviewed and played on numerous independent, college, and online radio stations. With no label or management, the rapper has also landed various TV spots, swept the pages of multiple magazines and music blogs internationally, as well as accumulated over 1 Million+ total YouTube views on her channel.

With an undeniable stage presence, W.P. has headlined countless packed events as well as performed with well-known acts including Jadakiss, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Sheek Louch, Hopsin, Rittz, Big K.R.I.T., MIMS, Tech N9ne, Paul Wall, Vanilla Ice, TWIZTID, R.A. the Rugged Man, DMX, and many more! She has collaborated on songs with Bizarre (of D12), Cassidy, Da Mafia 6ix (formerly Three 6 Mafia), WAX, MIMS, Daddy X and Dirtball (of Kottonmouth Kings), Caskey (YMCMB), Layzie Bone (of Bone Thugs N Harmony), Spectacular (of Pretty Ricky), Mistah F.A.B., Spice 1, Chris Webby, R.A. The Rugged Man, and the list goes on!

Despite her edgy image and attitude, Whitney was chosen to be one of the faces of Philadelphia's "Unlitter Us" Campaign in 2010. TV spots for the campaign aired city-wide (and in surrounding areas) through 2011 on stations such as MTV, BET, Vh1, Comedy Central, ABC, and NBC. Whitney was featured using her rap ability in a spoken word poem she wrote about cleaning up the city streets. She also appeared in print and transportation ads, while additionally being seen alongside Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter at anti-litter rallies, and community events.

Further proving her versatility as an artist, W.P. took part in writing and recording on an Anti-Bullying album geared toward Children in late 2011. The album gained immediate recognition winning a Grammy Award for "Best Children's Album" at the 54th annual Grammy Awards in 2012 as well as a Nappa Honors Award, and Parent's Choice Gold Award from the Parent's Choice Foundation.

Whitney's perseverance, and rapidly growing fan base earned her spots on both a full Canadian tour with Twiztid as well as a 40-date USA tour with rap legend, R.A. The Rugged Man (of Nature Sounds), and Potluck (of Suburban Noize) in 2013. In 2014 she continued her momentum on a 60-date National Tour with Oscar Winning rap group Three 6 Mafia (now known as Da Mafia 6ix) followed by a run as direct support for highly controversial electronica group Blood on the Dance Floor. Never missing a beat, Whitney Peyton is taking 2015 by storm. She has successfully headlined her own tour dates while working on new music and visuals. Recently Whitney wrapped up a powerhouse tour with Fronzilla (from man from Atilla).

Despite her many hard-earned accolades W.P. still considers herself an "Underdog" in many ways. Having achieved so much independently, with an image not easily associated with hip-hop, it's easy to tell that her fans appreciate her home-grown attitude and "Team Underdog" movement. After releasing several free EP's she dropped what she considers her debut album, "On The Brink" last year (Jan. 2014). "On the Brink" features well-known acts from both the mainstream and underground and sold several thousand units worldwide with no official distribution! As a gift to her fans W.P. released a free EP entitled "Fear of Falling" this past March 2015 as an appetizer for a full-length album set to release in December of this year. If this biography is your first time seeing the name "Whitney Peyton" keep your eyes open because it won't be the last.
Chrysalis
Chrysalis has been a staple of the underground indie-metal/rock community for over a decade. In that time they've toured the entire U.S. & have been featured in numerous media outlets (ESPN X-Games, Revolver Magazine, among others). The bands' diverse sound has allowed them to tour with a wide array of established acts including Letlive, A Day to Remember, Agent Orange, As Blood Runs Black, Ill Nino, Orgy, & Otep.

Their 1st full length album (which was self-released while members of the band were still in high school) became one of CDbaby.com's all-time best selling in its genre, & landed them a stint on Vans Warped Tour.

The bands' second album, 'Focus On The Center,' was praised by critics & received heavy rotation on college radio across the country. (The album was the 3rd most added in the Loud Rock category nationwide in its 1st week of availability.)

Supported by fans via a successful crowd funding campaign, Chrysalis toured the entire United States during in 2014 & continued on in 2015/16 playing 175+ dates nationwide in a 2 year span. The band recently headed into the studio with Grammy nominated producer Ulrich Wild (Deftones, Pantera, Incubus) to begin work on a new album.
Van Brando
Van Brando is a San Diego based Hip Hop & Metal / Hip Hop Emcee (MC/Rapper). Van Brando's style is unique not only to Daygo, but to SoCal (Southern California) as well. The scene has rarely been exposed to an Artist in the past 10 years who has an original approach to Hip Hop.

This all changed when Van Brando jumped on the scene. Imagine if Pantera, Slayer, System of a Down, Cradle of Filth and I See Stars were all in a raw musical orgy with Tech N9ne, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Beastie Boys, Hopsin and Necro. The result is not a messy room filled with money shots... It's an artistic display of borderline genius meets insanity.

In San Diego Van Brando is known as a screamer... Noooooo you sick bastards and confused Hip Hop lovers, not that type of screamer! The screaming Van Brando does, is a well balanced mix between the Underground Hip Hop culture, Metalcore culture and a Tarantino flick. Anytime an Artist can emerge in a flooded, convoluted and confused Underground Hip Hop scene and bring something new to the table... Fans can tell they've stumbled upon a rare gem.

If you're in Los Angeles (LA), Orange County (OC), San Diego (SD), Nova Scotia (CAN), Zambonia (AFR), Japan (JPN), Netherlands (NL) or somewhere on Sirius B... You can probably hear this dude ripping a mic right now if you listen carefully. Stars pass gas... Van Brando is essentially his own solar system of Hip Hop music fused with the hardcore stylings of a mad man. Van Brando is not looking to be the next star... He's looking to be your next inspiration!
